Anti Stretch Mark Cream
If you are in search of finding the right anti stretch mark cream with proven results, it will probably be like looking for a needle in a haystack unless you know exactly what to look for. There are definitely a handful of products that work if they contain the right ingredients.
It is vital to know the ingredients that are effective for stretch marks. It is also proposed that as you desire to search for the right product, you should also know the cause of stretch marks. If you are here to find the cure, then read on.
To be able to treat stretch marks effectively, you have to know what triggers stretch marks in our body. Principally, everything happens in the skin in relation to striae. Physiologically our body is capable of producing collagen and elastin, the proteins in our skin. These proteins constitute our elastic fibers found in our connective tissues which enable our skin to be flexible and expand.
However, biological and physiological changes can hamper the collagen and elastin production like hormonal imbalance. The deficiency of collagen and elastin disrupt the skin’s elasticity thus making the dermis grow thinner and thinner as it expands, then it will eventually break the dermis.
Having said that, it is important that your anti stretch mark cream contains ingredients that will address the collagen and elastin defect. There are natural components that have been effectively used for over decades. To name a few, these are: Grapefruit Seed Extract, Squalene Oil, Aloe Vera extract, Vitamin E and DL- Penthenol.
Generally all these ingredients work on the skin renewal. But they also have specific properties that are just as beneficial as its remedial properties. The grapefruit seed extract for example aids in enhancing the production of collagen and elastin, thus it corrects the deficiency occurring in the body.
Squalene oil though famous for its potent regenerative effects is also a good source of anti-oxidants and shields the skin from harmful effects of the environment. It helps maintain the skin to be supple and healthy.
The aloe vera extract on the other hand is legendary for its curative properties. It has been used for centuries in treating almost all kinds of diseases counting the skin ailments. It does not only repair skin problem but also moisturizes it.
Vitamin E penetrates down to the deepest layer of the skin thus resuscitating the skin cells and simultaneously increasing its elasticity and strength.
Last, the DL- Penthenol also known as pro-vitamin B5. This is a powerful component that works evenly in the outer and inner layers of the skin. It guarantees to diminish the appearance of striae. Like the grapefruit seed extract, it also boost the connective tissues.
In view of those facts, these are basically the ingredients that you need to look for in buying an anti stretch mark cream.

@jonteves Acne scars…you must have popped all your pimples, right? I am just getting over my very bad acne that I had for 3 years. Out of like 500 pimples that I got I only popped like 10 of em accidentally while washing my face. My advice is not bother with over the counter garbage, because it is over priced and there is so many effective ingredients that they can not include in their products, that a dermatologist can prescribe to you. If you have health insurance, see a dermatologist.

well the trilastin did nothing for me…the humectants created ingrown zits that destroyed me….I was disappointed…

Derma-roller? What’s that?
August 9th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Hmm still doubt it a lil bit thou..mine is white/silvery ones…heard it many times that deep purplish/reddish tone is easier to remove *sigh*. But maybe I wanna give a try soon. Thanks for the reply!

heavy weights and protein

If I had the money, I would combine the Derma-roller treatment with TriLastin applications. Derma-Roller increases absorption of creams by 200% so I can only imagine the results I would get from combining the two. I’ve had great results from TriLastin alone, but I am pretty confident that I could completely erase my stretch marks in a shorter period of time with both treatments.

I believe you! I’ve seen great results myself. How long did you use it before you saw those kinds of results? Also were your striae mild, moderate or severe? Were they old or new?
August 9th, 2010 at 5:44 pm
I’m sorry to hear this. I feel your pain and I know what it’s like to be covered in stretch marks. If you have the money to keep up the TriLastin treatments then I would highly recommend you keep using it. I wish I had some before and after pictures of my stretch marks. It worked wonders for me.
August 9th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
I’m not sure whether they are white or silver but I know that they are light. It actually worked well on them as well as the deep purple ones. I’m not going to say that TriLastin will erase your stretch marks in a few months. According to my results, I would use it for about 9-12 months. It has so far been the best stretch mark cream. It even faded my c-section scar significantly. Part of isn’t visible anymore. Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to continue the treatment.
