Fight Stretch Marks with Water

Stretch marks aren’t attractive and no one wants them. For some people, stretch marks appear as if by magic after weight loss or weight gain or pregnancy. Whether you’re fighting these marks now or want to proactively prevent them, water is a great weapon.

Are you getting your eight glasses of water a day? While our skin is already quite elastic, it can only be stretched so far before stretch marks form. Prevention of stretch marks is another reason on the long list of reasons to drink more water. The more hydrated your skin, the better its elasticity. If your skin is better able to handle stretching, you’ll decrease your chances of getting stretch marks.

You Are What You Eat

Coffee, cola and other sugary or caffeine based drinks aren’t what your body or your skin needs. Food can also be hydrating so eat plenty of fruits and vegetables that have a high water content and that’ll also work in your skin’s favour.

Another good option is to choose a stretch mark skin cream that has water in it. A good skin cream will have quality ingredients and positive testimonials. Whether you’re working to prevent stretch marks or looking to deal with the ones you’ve got, eating healthy, staying hydrated and using high quality skin products on your body’s largest organ (your skin) will be beneficial for you.
